COMEDY: Local comedian Sara Armour will headline LYGO DC’s “Stand-Up at Bier Baron” (1523 22nd St NW). 8:30-10:30 p.m. $10 suggested donation. Register in advance and get a free draft or rail drink.
GRAPHIC NOVEL SIGNING: Becky Cloonan and Shaun Simon, creators of the graphic novel series The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys, will be signing copies at Big Planet Comics’ Vienna location (426 Maple Ave E, Vienna, Va.). The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys is described as “a sci-fi adventure where the Killjoys lost their lives battling against a controlling megacorp, and now their followers carry on the fight.” Cloonan also self-published the acclaimed minicomic series By Chance or Providence! They’ll be signing from 7 to 9 p.m.
COLORFUL: The Blue Man Group is in town through May 11. Expect lots of paint, marshmallows, Cap’n Crunch, Twinkies, and giant versions of touch screen cell phones. Tickets start at $48 on weekdays and Sunday, and $58 on Friday and Saturday, but you can try your hand at $25 best available seats by entering your name in the lottery two hours before each show.
