Mogwai has been going strong since 1995, releasing eight albums and multiple singles, EPs, and scores. The post-rock outfit has experimented with almost every sound, keeping what works and removing what doesn’t fit. The band’s eighth record, Rave Tapes, follows 2011’s excellent Hardcore Will Never Die, But You Will. “Remurdered,” like most Mogwai tracks, is all about the build up to the climax. This time around the track is built around a pulsing bass that explodes into a flurry of analog synths.
Mogwai play tonight with Majeure at the 9:30 Club. Tickets are $25.
