After being closed for more than 1,000 days because of an earthquake, the Washington Monument will reopen to the public next week.

To celebrate, EarthCam has released an 80-second time-lapse video showing repair and restoration work between March 2013 and April 2014. The $15 million project will be officially complete when Al Roker, with Secretary of the Interior Sally Jewell and NPS Director Jonathan Jarvis, hosts a ceremony Monday to once again kick-off tours.
