The Parva cam!

The Parva cam!

Here’s a scenario: You live near a business that is allegedly objectionable in some way. Perhaps it’s noise or a safety concern. What do you do? The answer for some Bethesda residents is a live camera focused on the source of their frustration.

As BethesdaNow reports, residents of a condo near The Parva set up the camera ahead of an alcohol license renewal hearing for the restaurant. They allege that “fighting, public urination, assault, drunk driving and egregious noise” occurs because of The Parva. Its owner, in turn, told BethesdaNow he’s being harassed.

Long a neighborhood blight, Parva’s owners continually encourage bad behavior. This camera will capture the debauchery as it happens. It’ll also record everything and will be made available to police, the Montgomery County Department of Liquor Control and other concerned parties.

Common sights include public urination, fighting, drunk driving and other activities. Viewer discretion advised.

The Parva, a Latin American lounge, is well-reviewed on Yelp.

To DCist’s knowledge, this tactic has — somehow! — not been deployed by unhappy neighbors in D.C.
