BOOZE AND BOWLING: Tonight is the last night when Pinstripes’ (1064 Wisconsin Avenue NW) is offering $3 craft beers from 3 to 7 p.m. (While a release states that happy hour resumes from 9 p.m. to close at the “bar, bowling, bocce and patio areas,” a reader says she was told otherwise. We’ll update when we verify.) Beers from DC Brau, 3 Stars and Atlas will be on tap.
DANCE: The D.C. Commission on the Arts and Humanities begins its 10th annual Dance DC Festival tonight with a 6 p.m. reception and 7 p.m. performance by Enchantments of the Eastat at the Atlas Performing Arts Center (1333 H Street, NE). COOLNESS IS HAVING COURAGE: Animal Collective’s Panda Bear performs tonight at the 9:30 Club. Fellow AC member Geologist, who lives in D.C., will open with a DJ set. Doors 8 p.m. $25.
JAZZ: Schooled in jazz and classical music, raised amid the rap and hip-hop of the 1990s, keyboardist Kris Bowers has forged a sound all his own that has made him a musician on the rise. He won the Monk Competition in 2011 and that led to the release of his ambitious debut album, Heroes + Misfits, which came out this year. PEAK PREAKNESS: Before the horses run in a circle, Baltimore will also play host to the Preakness InfieldFest. Between 8 a.m. and 6:30 p.m., Lorde, Nas, Frank Walker and other artists will perform at the Pimlico Race Course (5201 Park Heights Avenue, Baltimore, Md.) Tickets $70-$140.
SCULPTURE HISTORY: The Arts in Foggy Bottom sculpture exhibition returns this year with opening day ceremonies planned for 4 p.m. on the corner of New Hampshire and I Street NW. “Sculpted: Histories Revealed features 16 contemporary sculptures by 15 artists. The works — presented on private properties — respond to the spaces, personae and stories of the Historic Foggy Bottom neighborhood.” Free. A reception follows at the Watergate Gallery (2600 Virginia Avenue NW).
GRAVEYARD GRUB: The Congressional Cemetery with host Graveyard Grub from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., featuring seven food trucks. (BBQ Bus, Big Cheese, DC Empanadas, DC Slices, Red Hook Lobster, Curbside Cupcakes, and Captain Cookie and the Milk Man.) There will also be a full-bar, and a free introductory tour at 11 a.m. and Civil War tour at 1 p.m. Leashed dogs welcome.
ART FIGHT: Super Art Fight, “a unique and hilarious mixture of live art, pro-wrestling style characters and improvised commentary,” comes to the Black Cat (1811 14th Street NW). $15. Doors at 9 p.m.
SUNDAY
FARMER FOR THE DAY: To launch their takeover of the farm at Walker-Jones, DC Greens will host a community day at the site (111 K Street NW) from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The first 40 volunteers who sign up get a free Chop’t salad, and there are still spaces available. In addition to basic garden work, there will be goats in attendance to clear the space. Goats will like to cuddle.
MUSIC FOR FRIENDSHIP: The French Embassy (4101 Reservoir Road NW) will host a chamber music concert that benefits Friendship Place, a homeless non-profit that provides housing and resources. From 3 to 4:30 p.m., the Potomac Trio with Charles Nilles will perform the works of Rossini, Beethoven, Bach and Meyer. Tickets are $35.
