MUSIC: After many years spent playing in multiple hardcore punk bands, Walter Schreifels’ solo act is much easier listening. We’ll see how much hardcore punk is brought in to tonight’s performance. Black Cat (1811 14th Street NW) 8 p.m. $14

CLASSIC FILM: The National Theatre’s Monday night film series is coming to a close. Two months of everything Paul Newman will be wrapped up with a showing of The Verdict. The National Theatre Helen Hayes Gallery (1321 Pennsylvania Avenue NW) 6:30 p.m. Free.

MODERN FILM: In the documentary Still Dreaming, a group of over-80 retired broadway stars embark on a journey to perform A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Check out a screening at the Folger Theatre (201 East Capitol Street SE) 7 p.m. $15-20

WEDNESDAY: In The Yellow Wallpaper, a woman becomes obsessed with — you guessed it — yellow wallpaper. The Pallas Theatre Collective debuts the musical before the full production this summer. Anacostia Arts Center (1231 Good Hope Road SE) 7:30 p.m. Donation required.

THURSDAY: Students from D.C. and Detroit have been working together to “rewrite the narratives about their cities, break boundaries and create art that inspires.” Watch the final presentation of “The 524 Project” where “two cities raise their voices through poetry and playwriting.” Anacostia Playhouse (2020 Shannon Place SE) 7 p.m. Free.
