POSITIVE FORCE BENEFIT: Longtime activist collective Positive Force is hosting a benefit show for Syrian children tonight at St. Stephen’s Church in Columbia Heights (1525 Newton Street NW). On the bill are Arlington garage-rockers Foul Swoops, Nic Fits, and Anchor 3. Former Frodus/Battery drummer Jason Hamacher will be presenting his photography of Syrian life. $5-$10. DCIST PRESENTS: DCist, along with Union Kitchen, Metro Mutts, and DC DIT, is throwing a concert and we really want you to come. From 5 to 7 p.m., at The Lot @ Atlantic Plumbing (945 Florida Avenue NW), Metro Mutts is throwing a canine happy hour, so bring you dog(s)! Then at 7 p.m. the concert starts, featuring Paperhaus, Outputmessage and The Effects. Food and drinks will be available for purchase. Free entry.

I WANT TO RIDE MY BICYCLE: Tour de Fat returns to Yards Park at 11 a.m. with a bicycle parade, Reggie Watts, contests involving bikes and 1,000 people dancing, local food, and $5 New Belgium beer. Until 5 p.m. Free, but donations go to local non-profits including Washington Area Bicyclist Association and Black Women Bike DC.

YOU’RE IT: SurviveDC returns. Meet at Stanton Park (Maryland and Massachusetts avenues NE) at 7 p.m. then run around the city. “You will try to visit checkpoints as fast as you can while avoiding being caught by chasers. Those who survive will be praised and feted at the end. Those who fall will become chasers themselves, rising to pursue their former friends and allies.” Check out our profile from last year.

VINYL: The D.C. Record Fair will (twist!) take place in Rossyln at Artisphere (1101 Wilson Boulevard). “Featuring dozens of record dealers, hundreds of crates of records, live DJ sets, film screenings and special musical guests in the Dome Theatre.” 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. $5 before noon, $2 after that.

POP-PUNK: There’s a seriously stacked show of some of the best pop-punk/indie punk bands around right now at the Rock & Roll Hotel on Sunday. Scranton, Pa.’s The Menzingers are touring off their latest, Rented World, and bringing along Toronto’s PUP, whose blistering debut is one of the best punk records of the year thus far. Philly’s Cayetana and semi-local outfit Lemuria are also playing and aren’t to be fucked with. Pop-punk forever. $18, starts at 7:30 p.m. — Matt Cohen
