Bill Maher—the stand-up comedian, provocateur, host of Real Time With Bill Maher, and most importantly, co-star of D.C. Cab—is coming to D.C. in September.
According to a release, Maher will have two back-to-back live shows in D.C.—first, a live taping of Real Time, followed immediately by stand-up show. Real Time will be taped from the Shakespeare Theatre Company’s home at the Sidney Harman Hall in Chinatown, and will be the finale of the season’s “Flip a District” feature, wherein he asks viewers to nominate a current elected representative to be voted out of office At the show, he’ll tally the results and reveal with member of Congress will be flipped out of office.
After the taping Maher will jet straight to the Warner Theatre, where he’ll perform a stand-up set that will be taped for an HBO special. One can only hope he’ll just talk about the making of D.C. Cab for an hour, but it’ll probably just be his same old schtick where he makes fun of politics, religion, and stuff. You can get tickets to his Warner Theatre show (to the Friday show and a warm-up gig on Wednesday) here.
