It’s anyone’s guess as to when we might be seeing a legit streetcar carrying passengers roll through the H Street NE corridor, but that’s not deterring the District Department of Transportation from continuing its routing plans for future lines.
Tonight and Thursday, DDOT will public meetings to provide analysis and accept feedback for four proposed North-South corridor Streetcar routes. DDOT says the nine-mile North-South corridor “includes most of the inner Northwest, crosses the National Mall, and in generally bound by 14th Street and 5th Street NW. During tonight’s and Thursday’s meetings, DDOT will lay out their plans for the four proposed route options, take public feedback, and use that before entering the next stage of the study; the environmental impact of each of the four proposed routes.
Those interested in attending, presentations at today’s meeting will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the 2nd floor community room of the Department of Regulatory and Consumer Affairs (1100 4th Street SW). Thursday’s presentations will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Emery Recreation Center (5701 Georgia Avenue NW). More info available here.
