Thirty-one animals have been born at the National Zoo and Smithsonian Conservation Biology Institute in recent weeks, many of them endangered.
This, according to a release, includes a short-eared elephant shrew, fishing cat, leaf-tailed gecko, three loggerhead shrike chicks, 24 (!) black-footed ferrets, a scimitar-horned oryx, and two red pandas. (Still miss you, Rusty.) See some photos of these new additions in the gallery above.
