For at least the third time this month, a woman was attacked on the Metropolitan Branch Trail. Police say a juvenile was arrested in connection with the crime.

According to Metropolitan Police Department Lieutenant Gary Durand, a woman was assaulted and robbed Monday evening along the portion of the trail near 300 block of R Street NE. “Due to the rapid response of Mountain Bike Officers a subject was stopped and identified as the perpetrator,” Durand wrote in an email to the MPD listserv. “The woman was uninjured. Because the offender is a juvenile we can not release information on the offender.”

A youth was arrested in connection with a June 17th attack with the intent to commit a sexual offense on the Metropolitan Branch Trail. A second woman told WTOP she was attacked on that same day along the trail.
