The bad news: Organizers of last week’s World Cup watch party in Dupont Circle didn’t raise enough money to throw one tomorrow for the USA-Belgium game. The good: The D.C. government is going to host one at Freedom Plaza.

The event will begin at 3 p.m. while the match starts at 4 p.m. Blankets and chairs are allowed and recommended, since that is some largely unshaded stone you’ll be hanging out on. The watch party is being hosted by DowntownDC BID, Events DC, Pepco and CBS 94.7, as well as D.C. United and Akridge — two parties closely involved in the proposed stadium deal. DC Water, another host, will provide water stations and a misting tent. Bring you own sunscreen and maybe one of those squirt bottle fans, as it will be extremely hot tomorrow. Shade tents will also be available.

The following street closures begin at 9 a.m. and end at 9 p.m.

  • Pennsylvania Avenue from 13th Street to 14th Street NW
  • E Street from 13th Street to 14th Street NW
  • 13th Street from E Street to Pennsylvania Avenue NW
  • Update: And here’s another indoor option from the Embassy of Belgium.
