Boy, that was a great three-day weekend, wasn’t it? Well, it’s over. Over! But at least we have these two new flamingo chicks, born at the National Zoo this Sunday, to look at. From the Zoo:

We’re chirping with excitement! Our 100th and 101st flamingo chicks hatched yesterday. Keepers are hand-rearing both the chicks behind the scenes, and the tiny birds appear to be doing well.

The chicks will go on exhibit with the rest of the flamingo flock when they are a little bit older. Visitors to the Bird House can see pairs of flamingos sitting on their nests made of mud.
