We’re still two years away from the next Presidential election, but there’s already lots of chitter chatter as who the front runner will be to take the mantle from Barack Obama. Will it be Hilary Clinton? Rand Paul? Martin O’Malley? Well, the top-polling candidate so far is actually Luke Skywalker. Kind of.
The folks over at the Post’s Wonkblog took the numbers released from a recent poll conducted by FiveThirtyEight about American’s favorite Star Wars character and compared them with the favorability of presidential hopefuls for the 2016 election and put it all into one chart graphing the net favorability ratings. The results find that a majority of Americans would favor Luke Skywalker over any actual presidential hopefuls. Tied with him is Han Solo, followed by Yoda. In fact, even Star Wars villains like Darth Vader and Boba Fett poll higher than any actual real politician. Of the real people, Hilary Clinton has a sizable lead over Mike Huckabee and Rand Paul.
The Gungan ambassador from Naboo, Jar Jar Binks is polling pretty low, right behind Rick Santorum, but ahead of John Boehner. Congress, meanwhile, is in dead last.
I, for one, bow down to our new Jedi President Overlord.
