Fred Davis, a former Washington football team player indefinitely suspended for violating the NFL’s substance-abuse policy, is wanted by D.C. police for domestic violence.

According to a release from the Metropolitan Police Department, Davis allegedly committed domestic violence simple assault on Monday, June 2, around 3 a.m. in the 2400 block of 18th Street NW.

Fred Davis is described as a black male, with medium complexion, in his late twenties, between 6’8” and 6’9” in height, weighs approximately 250 pounds, and resides in Leesburg, Virginia.

The 28-year-old tight end was drafted by Washington’s NFL team in the second round of the 2008 draft. He was suspended indefinitely in February for violating the NFL’s substance-abuse policy and was arrested the next day for DUI in Virginia. He was found not guilty after the judge ruled police did not have the right to initiate a traffic stop. In 2013, a D.C. Superior Court judge ruled that Davis “assaulted and battered” a woman at D.C.’s Josephine Nightclub and Lounge in 2011. He was ordered to pay almost $20,000 in damages.
