Are you surprised that the new trailer for Christopher Nolan’s new sci-fi epic Inserstellar is anything short of, well, epic? No? Yeah, neither were we.
Coming of the heels of The Dark Knight Rises, Interstellar doesn’t show signs of Nolan slowing down his roll. With previous trailers, we’ve only seen glimpses of the visual spectacle the film Nolan hyped up, but now, with the newest trailer—debuting only a few days after it was shown at San Diego Comic-Con—it’s confirmed: Interstellar looks absolutely mind-blowing.
The trailer kicks off rather modest, with scenes of Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, and Michael Caine sputtering dialogue suggesting that some sort of catastrophe threatens the future of life on Earth. Then, McConaughey and co. launch into space and—well, damn.
While the plot of the film is still shrouded in some sort of mystery, the trailer suggests that McConaughey leads an exploration to a different part of the solar system to find “potentially habitable worlds right within our reach.” Beyond that, your guess as to what happens is as good as any.
The film, which Nolan says is his “most ambitious” one to date, is scheduled to hit theaters in November.
