It’s 2003 in Boardroom Heroes’ “Here and Now.” Recorded in Baltimore’s renowned Salad Days studio under the guidance of hardcore recording wizard Brian McTernan (Circa Survive, Senses Fail, Strike Anywhere), this track is a time-traveling treat.
Following some recent lineup changes, Bethesda, Maryland’s Boardroom Heroes came out swinging on this cut, which is off their forthcoming EP, New Wage. “Here and Now” is a shot of crystal-clear pop-punk that appeals to both old and new school punk fans. Vocals that could potentially be snotty-sounding are respectfully blended with the surrounding guitars and colossal drums. Muted strumming and power slides bust open into a sing-a-long chorus. And to top it all off, there’s a satisfying little bridge with tinny, boxed-in vocals. Someone get these guys on the Warped Tour stat.
Boardroom Heroes new EP, “New Wage,” will be released on August 19th via Sinking Ship Records. You can pre-order the vinyl here. The band is playing a record release show on Friday, September 12 at the Rock & Roll Hotel.
