Update: Guess what, D.C.? We’re also getting a Momofuku Milk Bar. Rejoice again.
Hey dc. @momofuku isn’t coming home solo @momomilkbar & @ChristinaTosi are opening a spot too! That’s right soft serve & cookies for all

In D.C.’s rapidly growing culinary world, the one thing we don’t have is a restaurant by revered celebrity chef David Chang. Well, watch out José Andrés and Mike Isabella because Chang is coming to town and bringing his famed Momofuku with him.
That’s right, D.C., you’re getting a Momofuku. Washingtonian has the scoop on the details—which are scarce right now—on Chang’s famed restaurant group, which will open in the new CityCenterDC in spring or summer 2015. Here’s what they got out of Chang:
- “At 4,500 square feet, it will be the largest of any of his restaurants outside of Toronto. He’ll be on opposite sides of the building from fellow NYC chef Daniel Boulud.”
- The restaurant is “going to be exactly what we do and nothing like what we do at the same time.” Take that as you will.
- The menu will include “stuff that we’ve never done before, or that we’ve done, but not done a lot of.”
- There will be pork buns, repeat THERE WILL BE PORK BUNS.
In the meantime, people are already losing their shit over the news:

But also a sad truth:
