A “day of rage” protest in response to the shooting of an unarmed teen in Ferguson, Mo. is scheduled to take place outside the White House tonight.

The country-wide protests were announced by members of Anonymous, although as Snopes points out, identifying which groups are endorsing the rally and their exact role in the hacking collective is difficult.

The Hill reports that Park Police, the Secret Service and the Metropolitan Police Department are aware of the rally, which is set to begin at 7 p.m.

A community-organized vigil for Michael Brown, the 18-year-old killed by a police officer, was held in Malcolm X/Meridian Hill Park last week. (Photos from that vigil can be seen in the gallery above.)

“Whoever said this is a day of rage is a liar,” organizer Jonathan Lykes told the crowd. “This is a time to mourn.”
