It was a little more than a year ago when the ex-gay pride movement, led by the organization Voice For The Voiceless, organized the first annual “Ex-Gay Pride Month,” which promised to bring thousands to D.C. It ended up getting boiled down to a single day with less than ten people showing up.
This year, organizer Christopher Doyle is pulling a mulligan, and once again bringing “Ex-Gay Pride Month” to D.C., this time with presumably more than ten people. Maybe a dozen. Perhaps even 15 people.
This year’s event is scheduled to take place from October 3 to 4, and asks people to “join Parents and Friends of Ex-Gays and Gays, Voice of the Voiceless, and Equality and Justice For All,” for an entire weekend of raising awareness for those who were gay but claimed to have “cured” themselves, or whatever.
The summit, which Right Wing Watch says was a “smashing success.” will feature speakers Alan Keyes, Sandy Rios, Matt Barber, Peter Sprigg, and “real-life ex-gays Greg Quinlan and Christopher Doyle.”
There’s a whole host of activities going that weekend, including an ex-gay pride breakfast, a documentary screening, a training seminar for individuals with unwanted same-sex attractions, and more.
Never forget: “Hip, hip hooray for ex-gays! Hip, hip hooray for ex-gays! Hip, hip hooray for ex-gays!”
