At least three candidates for mayor will participate in a forum on arts education tonight.

Councilmember David Catania, former Councilmember Carol Schwartz and perennial candidate Faith are confirmed to attend the forum, hosted by the Capitol Hill Arts Workshop’s board of directors. A representative from CHAW said the campaign of Councilmember Muriel Bowser, the Democratic nominee for mayor, was unable to confirm her attendance “ahead of time.”

A spokesperson for Bowser’s campaign said she is not scheduled to attend. Bowser’s campaign has said in the past the candidate won’t debate until the ballot is set.

“The forum will provide our city’s mayoral candidates with the opportunity to deliver remarks about arts education programs in our schools and neighborhoods,” according to CHAW. “The evening’s format will allow for comments by each candidate followed by questions from the floor.”

The forum, which is free and open to the public, begins at 7 p.m. at the Capitol Hill Arts Workshop (545 7th Street SE).
