To celebrate the 200th anniversary of “The Star-Spangled Banner,” more than 6,600 Maryland students, teachers, and chaperones gathered at Fort McHenry National Monument and Historic Shrine in Baltimore to create the largest living American flag ever assembled.
Yes, all those people wearing red, white, and blue arranged in the shape of the American flag (albeit, with 15 stars and 15 stripes instead of the 50 stars and 13 stripes of today).
The event, which was a cooperative effort between the National Park Service and the Friends of Fort McHenry, took more than 90 minutes to assemble and can be viewed here.
‘Merica: love it or leave it.
