Sit tight, Homeland fans, it’s not too long now until you can watch everyone’s favorite CIA agent Carrie Mathison self-destruct again.
Showtime just dropped a new trailer for the upcoming season, which among other things, depicts Carrie in situations she’s at her most comfortable (going rogue on a hunch, having everyone mad at her, crying), along with other characters from the show doing what they do best. There’s Mandy Patinkin’s Saul Berenson lecturing someone, Rupert Friend’s Peter Quinn hurting someone, and F. Murray Abraham’s Dar Adal brooding over someone.
Bonus: we get our first extended glimpse at series newcomer Corey Stoll (you know, the Senator from House of Cards Frank kills in season one. Oh, shut up about your spoiler alerts, it happened over a year ago).
The intense trailer ends with Carrie’s quivering voiceover saying “I’m so sorry.” Who is she apologizing to? Her new baby? Saul? America? Tune in October 5 when the new season kicks off to find out.
