Prince George’s County Police today announced that 25-year-old Davon Wallace, the main suspect in the murder of D.C. toddler Knijah Amore Bibb, had been arrested.

Wallace was arrested inside an apartment this morning in D.C., according to police.

Wallace was wanted in connection to the shooting death of three-year-old Bibb, who was killed inside a Landover, Md. home she was visiting on August 10. According to police, Wallace was allegedly involved in an argument with a man outside the home, and later returned and opened fire on the house. A bullet struck Bibb, who later died of her injuries.

Two weeks ago, the FBI joined the search for Wallace, adding extra money for a reward to anyone who came forward with information. He was charged today with first degree murder.

Update: At a press conference this afternoon, Knijah’s mother, Shadon, thanked everyone who helped search for Wallace.

“I thank you guys for giving me closure, knowing that he’s behind doors where he belongs. I’ll never be happy without my baby, but I just want to say thank you all for getting the killer.”

PG County Police say they will continue to investigate who aided Wallace during the 38 days he was at-large. “Anyone who helped this individual is going to get charged,” Chief Mark Magaw said.
