The three people vying to become the next mayor of D.C. will debate for the first time tonight.
Councilmembers Muriel Bowser (D-Ward 4) and David Catania (I-At Large), and former Councilmember Carol Schwartz are confirmed to attend the debate tonight at American University. The “candidate conversation” will be moderated by NBC4’s Tom Sherwood. WAMU’s Patrick Madden and Kavitha Cardoza, and Clinton Yates from the Washington Post will serve as panelists.
The debate will begin at 7 p.m. inside AU’s Katzen Arts Center. It will also be live-streamed.
In a Washington Post-NBC4-Marist poll, 43 percent of likely voters supported Bowser, while 26 percent supported Catania and 16 percent supported Schwartz.
