The number of commuters who arrive at their jobs by bicycle increased for yet another year.

According to new Census data, 4.5 percent of commuters in D.C. biked to work in 2013, up from 4.1 percent in 2012 and 2.2 percent in 2009, while 13.6 percent walked and 38.5 percent used public transportation. The number of people using public transportation stayed the same from 2012, while walking increased from 11.9 percent.

Of the 318,291 workers over the age of 16 surveyed, 27.7 percent lived in households without a vehicle.
