Holy shit, you guys. This is actually looking like a decent weekend to ride the Metro. I mean, we deserve it, right? Just look at what we had to put up with this week.
Oh but there’s a caveat: there’s still going to be scheduled track work on the Red Line. Sorry, Red Line, you just can’t catch a break, can you? Anyway, a look at what’s going on:
Red Line
Trains every 8-15 minutes.
Red Line trains will operate as follows throughout the weekend:
- Between Shady Grove and Glenmont: every 15 minutes.
- Between Grosvenor and NoMa-Gallaudet: every 8-10 minutes Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. – 9 p.m. only
Work Performed: Rail tie renewal between Twinbrook and Shady Grove, fence replacement and lighting upgrades between Rhode Island Avenue and NoMa-Gallaudet.
Orange Line
Orange Line trains will operate every 16 minutes throughout the weekend. Normal service is every 12 minutes.
Work Performed: Platform rehabilitation, rail tie, fastener, insulator and grout pad renewal between Stadium-Armory and Cheverly.
And that’s it! Celebrate by watching the Nats beat the Giants.
