In a Pew Research Center post titled “The best and worst cities for women looking to marry,” the Washington-Arlington-Alexandria metropolitan area ranks as the 7th best. Why wasn’t the piece framed “The best and worst cities for people looking to marry?” Because getting married is clearly an issue that only women need to worry about to the point that they may relocate.
Pew created the report by looking, not only at the number of single men in metro areas across the country, but at men who are employed. There are 92 single, employed men for every 100 single, employed women in the D.C. area. There are 78 single, employed women for every 100 single, employed men. An interactive map can be seen here.
