The second man who attempted to bring a gun into a House office building this year was sentenced today.

Ronald William Prestage of the National Pork Producers Council was sentenced to a 30-day suspended sentence on counts of having an unregistered firearm and having unregistered ammunition in D.C., the Associated Press reports. The sentence — a suspended sentence with six months of probation — is the same handed down earlier to Hill staffer Ryan Shucard, who accidentally brought a gun into the Cannon Building. Shucard was reinstated as Rep. Tom Marino’s press secretary after he accepted to a plea agreement.

Between July, when both incidents occurred, and when the men were sentenced, a judge ruled D.C.’s complete ban on carrying handguns in public unconstitutional. However, the ruling only applies to local land in D.C., and legislation passed by the D.C. Council prohibits people with a concealed carry permit from bringing handguns into government buildings.
