On Sunday, numerous streets in and around D.C. will be closed for the 39th annual Marine Corps Marathon. You might be participating. Or you might just be spectating. Regardless, if you see actor Sean Astin running at some point during the marathon, please don’t yell “Rudy!” at him. He’s probably sick of it.

Yes, that’s right, the famed Rudy and Lord of the Rings actor will be running year’s Marine Corps Marathon. A release states that Astin will be joined Kennedy Space Center director Robert Cabana and retired Marines to signal the start of the marathon “for more than 120 hand cycle and wheelchair participants” at 7:40 a.m., followed by the start of the marathon at 7:55 am.

No word if Astin will be running the entire marathon Apparently, Astin has completed six marathons! Still, Rudy jokes are played out. Be more creative. Lord of the Rings jokes during the Marathon are fine, though. Also, Goonies jokes.
