Update: It looks like you’re probably not going to get into the show on Friday if you’re not currently in line outside the Black Cat.
UPDATE: If you are not in line now, no chance.

My buddy just sent me this pic of the people camped out in front of @BlackCatDC for Foo Fighters tickets. pic.twitter.com/CU0tzPYipt

Original post:
This is a call, D.C.: the Foo Fighters are playing Black Cat on Friday night.
Yes, you read that right. For the second time this year, the Foos are playing a surprise show at a venue much, much smaller than they should be playing. Dave Grohl and co. will be hitting the Black Cat main stage in celebration of their new HBO show, Sonic Highways, which is airing a D.C.-centric episode on Sunday night. The band is also releasing a new album of the same name on November 10th.
Back in May, the Foo Fighters were a not-so-secret surprise guest at a birthday celebration concert at the 9:30 Club for Trouble Funk’s Fat Tony, along with the legendary go-go band and a Bad Brains cover band featuring Grohl. On Friday, Black Cat will screen the new D.C. episode of Sonic Highways, with the Foos performing after the screening.
Anyway, here’s how you can get tickets: beginning today at 6 p.m. The details:
$20 per ticket. $3 service charge. Cash only. Maximum of 2 tickets per person. You must bring your ID. If you are buying a 2nd ticket you must provide the person’s name as it is stated on their ID. Tickets are 100 percent non-transferable and non-refundable. On sale October 21 at 6 p.m. at the Black Cat. The Black Cat is located at 1811 14th Street NW Washington, DC.
That’s the only way to get tickets, so better start lining up now, I guess. Anyway, here’s “Everlong.”
