It’s officially fall. Not because the calendar says so, or because the weather feels like Autumn, or because nearly everything has pumpkin in it, but because the Department of Public Works has announced their leaf collection schedule.
Beginning November 3 and running until January 10, the DPW will begin collecting leaves from neighborhood treeboxes. You can find the leaf collection schedule for every neighborhood here, but DPW is asking people to place leaves in the treebox space the Sunday before each collection cycle. They’ll be doing at least two pickups per neighborhood. Per usual, the leaves will composted, except ones that are bagged.
Also relevant: during the last two weeks of leaf collection season, DPW will pick up your Christmas trees or whatever leafy seasonal stuff you might want to get rid of, so be sure to mark that on your calendar (December 28-January 10).
That is all, you can go back to eating your pumpkin [insert food here] now.
