Via National Cathedral.Open City, the diner and coffeehouse in Woodley Park, is coming to the National Cathedral in a slightly smaller form.
The location will open in December, according to a website for the restaurant, which is affiliated with Tryst and The Coupe. The National Cathedral provided more information in September:
The Cathedral’s café will have a similar menu and operational model as Tryst at the Phillips. Unlike Tryst at the Phillips, however, Open City at the Cathedral will operate separately from the Cathedral itself and will be open before and after typical Cathedral hours:
7 a.m.-6 p.m. on weekdays and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. on weekends. The primary audience for the café will be neighbors and the greater family of staff, parents, and students on the Close. We expect that, as an amenity to the Cathedral’s visitor experience, the café will also see a great deal of traffic from sightseers, worshippers, and event attendees. The café will seat 47 and offer to-go service. A patio has also been approved, designed to lead from Walker Court to the front doors. The patio will approximately double the seating capacity and will provide an outdoor space with a view of the Cathedral’s edifice.
The new Open City is now hiring. It will be open seven days a week, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
