At some point this year, the members of the National Film Registry sat down, watched Joel and Ethan Coen’s 1998 cult classic The Big Lebowski and thought “you know what? That rug really did tie the room together.” And thus chose the Jeff Bridges-starring film, along with 24 other films that aren’t The Big Lebowski, to be included in the National Film Registry this year.
