Update: The menu [PDF] for Graffiato’s “Notorious B.I.G. & Tupac Tribute Dinner” no longer features items like “thug rice.” Instead the dishes are named after songs by the rappers and other hip-hop artists.
The dinner will also partially benefit Guitars not Guns.

Despite accusations of racism, Graffiato will still give a hip-hop-themed dinner in February. The “Tupac and Biggie Tribute” menu, which was published this week and featured dishes like “Thug Rice,” “Blood Money Sausage” and “Coke Floats,” is a “work in progress,” according to chef Mike Isabella.
The reaction to the menu for the $65 per person dinner was immediate, and it disappeared from the Internet sometime after the social media uproar began.

This #biggie & #pac so called “tribute dinner” by @Graffiato is pretty distasteful, no pun. Menu attached. pic.twitter.com/M14fsO52kY

“The Graffiato dinner on February 2 is a celebration of hip-hop from two of the greatest artists of the ’90s,” Isabella said in a statement. “The menu is still a work in progress, and dishes will be inspired by songs, lyrics and classic east and west coast dishes.”
