Yes, you read that correctly. Snow. Tomorrow. EVERYBODY PANIC.
According to the National Weather Service, the D.C. region is expected to get hit with its first snow of the season (there was some light flurries at one point last month, but that didn’t really count). How much snow? About one to two inches inside the Beltway, with more expected in more western areas in Maryland.
As the Capital Weather Gang reports, the snow “will likely start in the western areas (Loudoun County and points west) by 4 or 5 a.m., with the snow progressing from west to east. The District will probably see snow by 6 a.m., and the entire metro area should see flakes by 7 a.m.” So, just in time to make your morning commute a scene from the seventh circle of Hell.
Here’s a convenient timeline of the snow’s movements for tomorrow:
MT @postlocal: Timeline for Tuesday snow:
4 a.m. – West suburbs
6 a.m. – D.C.
7 a.m. – Full metro area
1 p.m. – Snow exits
1:30 p.m. – Drink— Matt Cohen (@Matt_D_Cohen) January 5, 2015
Anyway, yeah: Snow, panic, madness, etc.
