Though it’s only been a little more than two weeks since beloved cocktail bar The Passenger closed its doors for an indefinite hiatus, its spirit will live on once again while the owners search for a new permanent home.

As the Post first reported, Passenger co-owner Tom Brown is planning a series of “Passenger in Exile” pop-ups at different bars in the Shaw neighborhood. In an email, Brown tells DCist that the first one will take place Sunday, February 8 at Bar 7. For one night only, Brown and co. will celebrate “general Passenger love” from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m. with live-band karaoke with the Hari Karaoke Band and the bar’s signature cocktails.

The Passenger officially closed its doors on January 1, as the block it resided at in Mount Vernon Square is slated to be redeveloped. Along with The Passenger, its neighbors Hogo and BicycleSPACE were also forced to close down and relocate.

As of now, The Passenger hasn’t found a space to relocate as they’re looking for the right space. In the meantime, they’ll keep doing “Passenger in Exile” parties periodically.
