See? It’s not even this bad. (Photo by Brian Allen).
The weather may be crappy today, with more nasty snow expected just in time to snarl traffic during evening rush hour—but hey! At least we’re not the Northeast right now.
As cities like New York, Providence, Boston, and Philadelphia gear up for what meteorologists are calling an “historic” blizzard (two to three feet of snow expected for some of those areas), the D.C. area is in the midst of what will go down in the books as being a non-historic dusting that’ll be, more than anything, annoying.

In the city, this morning’s snow amounted to no accumulation, whereas the Maryland and Virginia suburbs saw a couple inches of accumulation. While the snow has stopped for now, Capital Weather Gang reports that some more scattered snow showers are due during evening rush hour:
Radar shows widely scattered snow showers working from southeast to northwest on the east and north side of town. These snow showers may briefly reduce visibility, but should not have much impact on the roads.
So yeah, it may be annoying and it may cause your afternoon commute to suck, but at least we’re not New York City right now. Perspective, y’all.
