The Metropolitan Police Department is searching for a patient who escaped from the Psychiatric Institute of Washington this morning.

According to the MPD, the patient—a 17-year-old black male—escaped from the Institute, situated in the 4200 block of Wisconsin Avenue NW this morning at approximately 11:20 a.m.

The escapee is described as being 5’10” to 6′ tall, weighing between 280 and 300 pounds. He was last seen wearing blue hospital scrubs and possibly blue jeans and hospital slippers.

Police say the escapee had been charged in a stabbing incident and is considered dangerous. Police advise anyone who sees him to take no action, but call police at 202-727-9099.
