For the first time ever, the D.C. Superior Court will open its doors on a Saturday to perform weddings on—you guessed it—Valentine’s Day.

The city, which according to a recent study is the best place for love on Valentine’s Day, despite that it’s the most loveless city, was so overwhelmed the amount of requests for Valentine’s Day weddings that the Superior Court decided to open on Saturday to perform 14 weddings.

“We are pleased to accommodate this number of couples who want to have this special date as their anniversary date. I appreciate court staff taking time away from their family and friends and coming to work on a Saturday morning so that we can perform these couples’ marriage ceremonies on this special date,” Chief Judge Lee Satterfield said in a statement.“ We expect to see a lot of smiling faces this Saturday, on the faces of the newly-married couples and their loved ones, and on the faces of court staff who so enjoy being witness to this special time in peoples’ lives.”

Last year, the D.C. Superior Court performed 28 marriages to couples who had the completely original idea to get married on Valentine’s Day. Of course, Valentine’s Day didn’t fall on a Saturday last year.

Of course, this doesn’t matter because love is evil. Just ask my man Slavoj:
