Hang in there, weather-embattled residents of D.C.: Spring is coming. How do I know? Am I some kind of chill magical wizard who can predict the future? Yes, but that’s not relevant here. In this case, I know because the National Park Service announced the expected dates for the cherry blossoms to hit peak bloom.

This morning, the NPS announced that D.C.’s famed cherry blossoms will hit their peak bloom between April 11 and 14.

Per tradition, the National Cherry Blossom Festival will take place around this time—from March 20 to April 12, to be exact—and will feature, among other events, the first ever Anacostia River Festival, presented by the 11th Street Bridge Park. You can find more information about the festival here. And you can follow the bloom schedule, like some sort of end-of-winter advent calendar, here.
