Ever since the District defied empty threats from Congress and went ahead with marijuana legalization, one of the biggest question marks has been where one can actually legally obtain seeds for growing pot. Luckily, the D.C. Cannabis Campaign—the group responsible for getting Initiative 71 on the ballot—has stepped up to answer that question. By hosting an event to share marijuana seeds.

On Thursday, March 26—the one month anniversary of marijuana legalization taking effect in the District—the Cannabis Campaign will host the “Spring Seeds Share.”

“Since Ballot Initiative 71 passed last November, the DC Cannabis Campaign has received many requests for cannabis seeds,” the Campaign says. “We’ve said all along, ‘ask a friend, they might have some seeds to give you.’ Still, we know that not everyone has friends who have seeds available to share.”

From 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Libertine (2435 18th Street NW), District residents will have the opportunity to share and legally obtain seeds to grow in your home, so long as you follow all of the rules. If you can’t make it on the 26th, there will be a second seed exchange on March 28 at the Cannabis Campaign’s headquarters ( 2448 Massachusetts Avenue NW) from 4:20 p.m. (get it) to 7 p.m.

More info on the seed exchanges and to RSVP can be found here.
