The inebriated man who crashed his drone on the grounds of the White House won’t be charged, the office of the U.S. Attorney for D.C. says.

The man, who is an employee of the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency, crashed a quadcopter drone he borrowed from a friend early in the morning of January 26. The drone was flying outside of over 10th Street NW when he “saw it ascend to an altitude of about 100 feet and head in a westerly direction.”

According to the investigation, the man lost control of the drone before it crashed on White House grounds. The investigation also determined that he knew the drone’s batteries were low and “expected it would crash somewhere over the Mall.” The man came forward and reported the incident to the Secret Service after seeing news about the drone crash the following morning.

Though he’s cleared from federal prosecution, the Federal Aviation Administration is now reviewing the case.
