Update: More official details about this morning’s incident are emerging. The Associated Press reports that a “firefight” erupted this morning after two people in a car tried to ram the NSA gate at Fort Meade. Officials opened fire on the car killing at least one person. The other suspect was injured and his condition is not known at this time.
A senior defense official told the AP that the two men in the car were dressed as women. An FBI spokeswoman also told the AP that the incident “was not believed to be linked to terrorism.”

One person has died and at least one other person is being treated for injuries after an incident at the National Security Agency gate at Fort Meade.
The Associated Press reports that a Fort Meade spokesperson said that emergency responders were on the scene of an incident this morning, but few details were immediately available. TV footage from the scene shows two damaged vehicles near the gate and a injured uniformed man being loaded into an ambulance.
