Editor’s note: Inspired by local musician and label owner Sean Gray’s recent website, Is This Venue Accessible?, the Weekly Music Agenda will do its best to provide venue accessibility info for every venue. If you’re a venue and your accessibility information isn’t listed on your website, email tori@dcist.com and we’ll update with the correct info. We also encourage spaces to make that information readily available.
TUESDAY
Violent Reaction, Arms Race, Earth Girls, Public Suicide (record release!) @ Cafe Saint-Ex. 9 p.m., suggested donation. Inaccessible space.
As far as I know, this is the first time that 14th Street’s Cafe Saint-Ex has hosted a DIY show of any kind, let alone a hardcore one. If you’re into hardcore, you want to be here. Straight edge collaborations abound, plus rare visits from some UK bands that you may not see again on this continent—and a record release celebration for local group Public Suicide, which features members of Coke Bust, Pure Disgust, and Protester. Honestly, I’m just curious to see how, if at all, the Saint-Ex patrons interact with audience members. Though the show is in the basement of the restaurant (and there is a sort-of separate entrance), here’s hoping for some hardcore crew/14th Street crew mingling. — Tori Kerr
Babe City: Chimes Records presents Earl Boykins, Diet Cig, and Bodeganights. 7 p.m., suggested donation. Venue accessibility unknown.
WEDNESDAY
The Paperhaus: Paperhaus 4th Anniversary with Laughing Man, Anthony Pirog, Crown Larks and Dave Klinger. 8 p.m., suggested donations. Inaccessible venue.
THURSDAY
Reptar, Breathers, Sun Club @ U Street Music Hall. 7 p.m., $18. Accessible venue.
This is a really great, diverse bill that’s a perfect fit for U Hall. Don’t miss a band at this show. Sun Club is a really fun band on the rise from Baltimore, Breathers are one of the best of a growing number of amazing bands out of Atlanta, and Reptar are a band that’s tough to pin down (in a good way) but guaranteed to make you dance. It’s rare that I’ll recommend a bill without any locals on it, but all three of these bands deserve your attention, and the fact that they are all playing together at one show makes this a show you shouldn’t miss. — Alex Tebeleff
Coup Sauvage & the Snips, Pleasure Curses, and Cat Jack @ MLK Library. 6 p.m., free. Accessible space.
It shocks me when I remember that this is only the fourth basement show to benefit the D.C. Public Library’s Punk Archive, which started last fall. The archive’s community involvement and presence in every corner of the city makes it already feel like a years-long mainstay. If they continue booking amazing shows like this one, I have no doubt that’s exactly what they’ll become. — Tori Kerr
DC9: Liturgy, Sannhet, and Horse Lords. 8 p.m., $12-$14. Venue inaccessible.
Comet Ping Pong: She Shreds Magazine party with Mannequin Pussy, Gauche, and DJ Baby Alcatraz. 9 p.m., $12. Accessible venue.

The Gypsy Soul Garden is the brainchild of Edy Blu and she will perform live with her band, as well as Haile Supreme, backed by Sealab. Blending culture and the arts with neo-soul and hip-hop will make for a special night on U Street, and the start of a new concert series by Edy Blu. – Andy Cerutti

The Pietasters performed at the first Braustomp last year and are back again this Saturday with support from local bluegrass band Frum The Hills. — Andy Cerutti
