Original post:

A source “familiar with Major League Baseball’s plans” tells The Associated Press that Commissioner Rob Manfred is planning to announce today that Nationals Park will host the 2018 All-Star Game.

If true, this marks the first time D.C. has hosted the game since 1969, when it was held at RFK Stadium. Previously. D.C. hosted the revered game in 1937, 1956, and 1962.

This year’s game will be hosted by the Cincinnati Reds, followed by the San Diego Padres in 2016, and the Miami Marlins in 2017.
