A brief but power thunderstorm swept through the D.C. area last night. You might have heard. There was also a tornado watch in effect, but no reports of a tornado touching down in the area have been reported.
Other than about 500 customers without power, the damage from yesterday’s thunderstorm was minimal. The storm did, however, light up D.C.’s skies with gorgeous strikes of lightning. Contributors to our community Flickr pool captured some gorgeous photos of said lightning, which you can see above.
