Metro Transit Police arrested a 14-year-old boy yesterday for allegedly attacking a Metrobus driver with a Taser back in January.

According to MTPD, the incident occurred on Friday, January 20 at approximately 5:17 p.m. on an E4 bus headed to the Fort Totten Station. The bus was at Nicholson Street and 6th Street NE when the teenager allegedly Tased the bus driver on her right arm “without provocation.” The bus driver was then transported to a nearby hospital.

MTPD identified the suspect through video evidence aboard the bus.

“Assaulting a bus operator is an act that puts at risk every passenger aboard the bus,” Metro Transit Police Chief Ron Pavlik said in a statement. “We will continue to do whatever it takes to protect our employees and customers.”
