Will work for money, food, free access to the cat cafe?
D.C.’s forthcoming Crumbs and Whiskers is hiring “cat loving visionaries” for unpaid temporary gigs to help get the city’s first cat cafe off the ground. The three positions—which founder Kanchan Singh envisions will involve a minimum of 20 hours a week for six to seven weeks—include Creative Spirit, Organization Guru, and Math/Tech Genius.
Payment includes cat swag, “amazing experience,” and, yes, free access to the cat cafe.
Singh tells DCist that they’ll hire permanent staff to actually work at the floor of the cafe “shortly, but [we’re] not there yet.” They are in the midst of going through the DCRA approval process to get the permits needed for the Georgetown space.
So now you’re faced with a question: is at least 20 hours of your life each week for a month and a half worth it in exchange for free entry to the cat cafe for forever? If so, you have until Thursday to apply.
Want to be part of the cat cafe’s founding team? Yes? YES?
