Details of the incident are scarce right now, but The Post reports that officers were called to the 4200 block of Second Road North at about 11 a.m. this morning for reports of domestic violence.
When officers arrived, a dispute took place that ended up with an officer sustaining a “sever facial laceration,” while the other suffered minor injuries from a Taser. A man, who has not been identified, was shot in the chest by police and succumbed to his injuries at a nearby hospital. The Post also reports that a woman suffered minor injuries during the incident.
According to a neighbor, the incident started around 10:30 a.m. From the Post:
Marcela Amurrio, who lives in the complex, said a man and his mother live in the apartment where the shooting occurred. She said she heard people inside begin fighting around 10:30 a.m. Tuesday.
At one point, she said, she heard a woman say, “I’m working all my life. Why aren’t you looking for a job?”
After police arrived, she heard two to three shots, then heard a man screaming for his mother to help, she said. Amurrio said she then heard yelling from police.
